2005 Highlights
- Won a world championship in the long jump at the 2005 IAAF World Championships in Helsinki, Finland, on Aug. 10, leaping a career-best and University of Tennessee record 6.83m or 22 feet, 7 ¼ inches.
- Became only the second American woman in history to win a world title in the long jump, joining Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and is only the third to medal in the world championships, joining Joyner-Kersee and Marion Jones
- Ranked Number 2 in the world in 2005 and Number 1 in the USA.
- Runner-up in long jump at 2005 USA Track & Field Championships, earning a place on the American squad for the IAAF World Championships
- 2005 NCAA Outdoor long jump champion and All-American, helping Tennessee finish fourth in Sacramento and chart its best outdoor result nationally since 1987
- Ran opening leg on UT’s third-place and school-record setting 4x100m relay at 2005 NCAA Outdoors
